Filoteca keeps everything on your device: sources, profiles, settings, favourites and progress. You do not need to create an account. There are ways to move or match that data between your devices within your network.
Adding a source from your phone
On a TV, typing addresses and passwords is awkward. Under Add source → “Add from your phone”:
- The TV shows a QR code, an address and a 4-digit PIN.
- Scan the QR with your phone and enter the PIN.
- On the phone, fill in your source's details (Xtream, M3U, Jellyfin, Emby, Plex or web folder) and send them: they appear on the TV.
It lasts at most 10 minutes and needs the phone and the TV to be on the same Wi‑Fi. After several wrong PINs it locks for a minute.
Bringing your sources from the TV (or taking them there)
- “Bring my providers from the TV” (on the phone, with a paired TV) copies the TV's sources to the phone.
- When you pair a new TV from the phone, the app offers “Copy my providers to this TV”.
Syncing between your devices
Under Settings → Devices → “Sync between my devices”, sources, viewer profiles, favourites and progress are matched between the phone and the paired TVs in your home, every few minutes or with “Sync now”. Favourites and progress travel for all the viewers of the device (matched by name on each device: an “Ana” on the TV and an “Ana” on the phone are the same), even if a different viewer is active on each device. If you prefer the old behaviour, “Viewers that sync” lets you choose “Only the active viewer”, where only the viewer who is watching is matched, and only when the same one is active on the other device. In addition:
- “Notices from other devices”.
- “Send my settings to my devices”: look, playback and keys. TV mode, size and parental controls are not sent.
With Filoteca Hub (Windows) syncing works even if the other devices are switched off.
