Filoteca is an app for watching the content you already have in a single interface, using your TV remote: your channel lists, your media servers and your files. It brings movies, series and live TV together, with artwork, detail pages, search, profiles and a programme guide.
What you can do with it
- Watch movies and series from your own server (Jellyfin, Emby, Plex), from folders on your network or from your cloud storage.
- Watch live television from an M3U list, an Xtream account, a Stalker/MAG portal or a TV tuner at home, with a programme guide (EPG) when the source provides one.
- Use several sources at once: Filoteca merges them into a single catalogue and, if a title appears more than once, uses the other copy as a backup.
- Use viewer profiles, each with its own list and progress, plus parental controls.
- Download titles to watch offline and play on another screen.
What you need to get started
- A compatible device: an Android phone or tablet, Android TV, Fire TV or a Windows PC (see compatibility).
- To install the app (installation guide).
- A source of your own to add (how to add a source).
Even with no source, the app includes free-to-air public channels (digital terrestrial TV, radio, public-domain classic cinema and public lists by country) so you can try it from the very first minute. They are explained in Free-to-air channels and classic cinema.
What Filoteca does not do
- It does not give you channels or content, and it does not tell you where to find them.
- It must not be used to build an IPTV distribution or resale network; the terms of use forbid it.
- It does not record on third-party servers and it does not show ads.
Before using it you will be asked to accept the terms of use and the privacy policy.
