The app is the same as on the TV: an APK file downloaded from filoteca.com. You need Android 7.0 or later.
Steps
- On your phone or tablet, open filoteca.com/download and tap “Download APK”.
- Open the downloaded file: tap the “Download complete” notice or find it in Files → Downloads (it ends in
.apk). - If Android asks, tap Settings and turn on “Allow from this source” for the browser or file manager you are using.
- Go back to the file and tap Install.
- When it finishes, tap Open.
Google Play Protect warning
The app is not on Google Play, so Google Play Protect may warn you that it has not been verified. This is normal: tap “More details” and then “Install anyway”.
After installing
- Accept the terms and follow the welcome tour (First launch).
- Add your first source: How to add a source.
- On your phone, besides watching content, you can use it as a remote for your TV with Filoteca Connect (a Premium feature).
Updating
Filoteca tells you when there is a new version and downloads and installs it from within the app (Settings → More → About → Check for updates). Android will ask for permission to install the first time. Your data is kept.
