Legal notice
Last updated: 14 October 2026
1. Site and service owner
In accordance with Article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), the owner of this website (filoteca.com) and of the "Filoteca" service is:
- Owner: Alfredo García
- Contact email: support@filoteca.com
- Activity: development and distribution of software to play and organise audiovisual content.
2. Purpose
This site presents the Filoteca app, explains its conditions and lets you request a licence to use it, free of charge during the beta. Filoteca is a player and organiser: it does not sell, host or distribute movies, series or TV channels, and includes no subscriptions to paid services. It also gives access to public free-to-air channel lists and a selection of public-domain cinema hosted by third parties. Users connect their own sources (lists, accounts with their provider, own servers, folders) and are responsible for having the right to use them.
3. Conditions of access and use
Access to the site is free of charge. Users agree to use it properly, in accordance with the law, good faith and public order, and not to use it for unlawful activities, to damage or overload the service or to access third-party systems or data without authorisation. Use of the service and the app is also governed by the Terms of use.
4. Intellectual and industrial property
The app, code, texts, design, images, logos and the "Filoteca" brand belong to Alfredo García or its licensors and are protected by intellectual and industrial property law. Reproduction, distribution, public communication or transformation without authorisation is not allowed, except as expressly permitted by law.
Third-party names and trademarks that appear (including Android, Android TV, Fire TV, Google, Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, The Movie Database, OpenSubtitles and Internet Archive) belong to their respective owners and are mentioned only to indicate compatibility or data origin, without implying any relationship, sponsorship or endorsement. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
5. Third-party content and links
Filoteca does not control and is not responsible for the content of the sources users connect or for linked third-party sites. The "Classic cinema" section shows films hosted by Internet Archive (archive.org) offered as public-domain or freely licensed works according to that service's information; Alfredo García selects them with reasonable care but cannot guarantee their rights status in every country.
6. Reporting unlawful content or use
If you believe any content, link or use related to this site or the service infringes your rights or the law, you can use the Report content form or write to abuse@filoteca.com stating: your identity and contact details, a precise description of the content and where it is, the right you consider infringed and a good-faith statement. Alfredo García will examine the notice promptly and, where appropriate, remove or block the content or suspend the responsible account. Filoteca can remove from its catalogue the "Classic cinema" films and the public lists or channels it offers under "Free channels"; it does not control the content of the sources each user connects.
7. Disclaimer of warranties and liability
The site and the service are provided "as is". Alfredo García does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or absence of errors and, to the extent the law allows, is not liable for damages arising from use of the site, service interruptions or the content sources users connect. Nothing above limits the rights consumer law gives to consumers and users or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
8. Data protection and cookies
Personal data processing is described in the Privacy policy and the use of on-device storage in the Cookies and storage policy.
9. Contact
For any enquiry, request or complaint: support@filoteca.com. Alfredo García will reply within a reasonable time, not exceeding 10 working days.
Consumer complaints may also be sent to support@filoteca.com. The owner does not adhere to any alternative consumer dispute resolution body.
10. Governing law and jurisdiction
This notice is governed by Spanish law. Unless consumer law establishes a mandatory forum, the parties submit to the courts of Cádiz.
